First, you never answered my question regarding if the people that wrote the bible were inspired. If you really know they were or not. And how do you know? What proof??
The point I was trying to get across is this: You people go on and on about 'man made religion'. That is why i reply by saying people wrote the bible. How is it that the people who wrote the bible are inspired and how do you know that god does not inspire people and continues too throughout history (priests/pope). What makes the people who wrote the bible infallible? Dont you think it would be wise of god to let this 'inspired by the holy spirit' thing with the disciples continue on throughout history?? Why stop at the disciples?? E.g contraception is not in the bible. Is this right or wrong? Where do we go for final authority on this issue. the bible? No its not in there. My consciounce? Everyone has a different consciounce. So, you go to the highest authority. The Church. Which Jesus promised he will be with. The Church is not perfect. Thats because people sin. Remember also that the catholic church also had authority over what parts of manuscript would become the bible. And they also wrote it out with light and an ink feather. One last point, you say you follow the bible. What about the part where Jesus says "this is my body". Your interpretation is this...the other persons is this.....did he really mean it or not???? The answer is in the authoirty of the CC. Yes it is his body.
You place too much on men. The men werent infallible, the holy spirit guided men when writing scripture. My god can do that. Hes all powerful. Your god seems to need men to do things. Jesus is the Bread of Life. believing his words are bread and meat, his body. Eat his body is to believe him. Hope to see you again
...God is indeed omnipotent...however we are not..and our intellects are imperfect and unlike God hence God's dependence on human ways of communicating to get his message across ..indeed God can bypass the intellect and infuse his being directly upon the soul since the4 soul is made in his image..however this is an experience which is above understanding... God has a transcendent perfect intellect..God has full knowledge of every aspect of all things..however we can only understand God's communications to us according to our nature which is not divine ...it is like the concept in electricity where we use transformers to reduce the voltage...God;s energy so to speak is at a higher level and so it is unmanageable for us so God uses a logical means to get his point across...same with a transformer in electricity where you have thousands of volts being reduced to a manageable amount by way of a magnetic field..as moses said no one can look at God and live so too we cannot comprehend God with our limited intellect and so God uses a go between the Holy spirit inspires men to send his message to all people through the conduit of the church..Just as Jesus decreed it in the great commission where he gave his apostles authority to go to all people and proclaim God's word..the Holy spirit is the paraclete or helper who is the magnetic field in the transformer ..it is a crude analogy but that is how it is... we cannot comprehend God with our intellect if we could our intellect would have to transcend itself which is a contradiction God doesn't give us a human intellect and then replace it with a divine one that is a logical impossibility....so God works through the channels of nature using conduits of grace....the apostles and the psalmists and the prophets...etc...belief is not enough..since even the devils believe and tremble...if you say to believe is to eat his body then the devils eat his body too if i use your logic????how can the devils eat his body then if they are fixed in rebellion for all times through their fixed will and irascible disdain for all things Holy ...james 2:19...King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.) Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble...so how am i to understand your conotation of the word believe does it have two meanings??? if the devil's also believe why are they not saved??????? if belief is enough
why does the world renowned theologian go by a fake name if he's so great? and why doesn't he do any book reading other than the holy bile (i mean bibble, i mean bible)?
Dear brother/sister
