Future Catholic Priest Cant Wait to become Priest To Do What Prists do.

An advocate for victims of sexual assault criticized the leader of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Columbus on Tuesday for being "quiet and passive" about the recent arrest of a former seminarian on charges that he planned to travel to Mexico to rape infant and toddler girls.
Bishop Frederick Campbell should instead hold a public meeting to alert the community about the charges leveled against Joel A. Wright, who until late last month, was studying to be a priest at Pontifical College Josephinum on the Far North Side, said Judy Jones, Midwest associate director of the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests. The network also wants Campbell to use the pulpit, church bulletins and church websites to encourage anyone who suspects Wright of crimes to contact police.

Federal agents first learned in July 2014 that Wright had paid a person in Tijuana, Mexico, to adopt a child with the intent of having sex with a female baby. The child was never delivered to him, court records say.
In recent weeks, Wright had been exchanging emails with a person he thought was a tour guide but actually was a federal agent. He stated that he wanted to adopt or own a baby girl younger than 3 and talked in the email of planning to rape her. Other emails also stated Wright's intent to shoot video of the assaults, court records say.

The cover ups continue

The Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis said Thursday that it has contacted nearly 50 law enforcement agencies in the past two weeks to provide files on priests accused of child sexual abuse. However, none of 12 metro law enforcement agencies contacted by MPR News confirmed that the archdiocese had offered files to review.

 St. Paul Police Chief Thomas Smith criticized the archdiocese in December for not assisting police in their investigations of clergy sexual abuse. Victims of abuse and their attorneys have called for police to force the archdiocese to turn over thousands of files on priests accused of sexually abusing children. However, Smith and Ramsey County Attorney John Choi have said they do not have enough evidence to obtain search warrants.

Genoa, 16 Oct (AKI) - Prosecutors in Italy's northern port city of Genoa were Monday due to question local priest Riccardo Seppia, who the Catholic church suspended over the weekend after his arrest on paedophilia and drugs charges.

Fifty-year-old Seppia was detained for “immoral behaviour with a minor and the use of of stupefying substances”, according to a Genoa curia statement.

Investigators opted to arrest Seppia on Saturday following surveillance of his mobile phone and obscene text messages allegedly sent to teenage boys, including a 15-year-old with whom he had arranged a sexual encounter later that day. Investigators believe Seppia abused "at least five" male youngsters in his parish.

"You're right. He's gorgeous and I'm going to f*** him," read one of Seppia's text messages, according to investigators cited by Italian daily La Repubblica. They had been tapping his phone for months as part of a Milan-based drug trafficking probe from which it appears Seppia may have been a regular client of one of the cocaine traffickers under surveillance.

Investigators did not state who the recipient of the text message was but a 40-year-old former trainee priest is being investigated in the probe for procuring boys for Seppia and other clients.

In tapped mobile phone conversations investigators say they heard Seppia propositioning another under-age youth in exchange for 50 euros and offering an 18-year-old cocaine.

Seppia's habit of frequenting local gay bars late in the evening gained him the nickname "the priest of the night" according to parishioners. One was cited by La Repubblica as saying she had sent her children to another parish for catechism classes when Seppia arrived at the church.
